A Short Story: The Card by James Ross

Childhood has always been conceived as the most crucial era of our lives, the period where our personalities are shaped and our minds molded.

Reading a short story about the short experience of childhood is similar to acknowledging the changes that we have gone through with the nostalgic sense of remembrance that evokes different emotions for different individuals.

Read this very short yet immersible story (5 pages long) here.

Reading 2.0 !!!

Nearly everybody agrees upon the fact that there is no better means to improve your language cognition than to study literature on a regular basis.

By studying literature we simply imply reading books as we are all aware, however due to the constant hum of our daily lives and its following lack of spare time coupled with the fiscal difficulties in regard to purchasing, carrying and maintaining actual books, the contemporary occupants of earth would find it rather inaccessible to read literary contents such as novels, poems, journals and so forth on occasion, let alone regular basis.

Although the modern people are blessed with the power of internet and as a result can obtain the aforementioned materials online, free of charge and within the comfort of their house or office.In fact online reading and e-books have proved a formidable opponent for the typographical and printing industry and more and more people embrace this style of reading every single day.

In this way I am more than gratified to present my students with but best short stories and literature both classic and modern in my blog so they can appreciate the seemingly flawless opportunity given to them by the internet.

It's also worth mentioning that my blog is equipped with the online version of Longman Dictionary and students can easily look up the difficult words in a matter of seconds.

Talk Show Podcast Episode One

Looking back upon the discourses and debates that occurred within the past few months in our Talk Show classes reveals a substantial concept about them: Talk Shows are intended to challenge the minds of the participants. Rendering an environment for the purpose of critical and decisive conversation is as crucial as the presence of individuals who are willing to immerse themselves inside the realm of engaging dialogs.
Fortunately owing to the fact that Talk Show is a derivative of ESL conversation courses, learners attend these classes for the aim of amending their dialects and idiolect and their capabilities concerning English as a second language, and hence it is safe to say that all the attendees of the show are indeed interested in the matter.

However, we can not overlook the rawness of diverse levels that could be ascribed to the participants who are primarily English learners and not professional speakers. In this way ,the challenge of being in these classes are two-folded simply because the participants have to overcome the difficulties related to comprehension and production of thoughts in the second language as well as strive for making their statement as sensible and judgmental as possible.
It's no surprise then, that I convey the class towards a more mature, round-table discussion akin to humanity courses taught in universities across the world and the multitude of TV and radio talk shows of all natures such as Doug Stephan's Talk Radio Countdown Show and NBC's Meet the Press.

The participants may find themselves remotely confused and hasty at first; after all not every person had preliminary experience in this type of debating in their own language, let alone English, but as time goes by the ease of attending these classes would become plain for both the host and the participants, which is incisively what happened during my classes.

Bellow you can hear the first episode of TALK SHOW PODCAST (20 minutes ) which provides a brief summary of the major themes negotiated in Talk Show classes so far:

A Poem From A Friend

In the name of love and its creator

By
Mack Moradi

Leafing through my baffled liveliness,

Gazing into my indistinct novels,

In the course of times,

On my gloomy being,

Eroded presence,

Disillusionments,

Undiluted and unabashed,

Sensing only you tough,

Illuminating solely by me,

A little hazy though,

Rendering as a divine buxom fairy,

Flying through the poetic blue firmament,

A cordial silhouette, flowing in my wounded heart,

Always in my tranquility, in my aloofness,

Yearning your tenderness,

Sweet scented, rapturous,

A brisk little ray,

In my dejected little heart,

Casting endlessly tiny flowery lust;

Feeling so gracefully, being by your thought,

A true passion is,

An ethereal moment,

A shimmering crescent on earth,

A sheer depicted glowing beauty,

While befalling me as an angelic mass,

Descending to me with her exalting meekness,

Granting the merit, that is worth the toil in essence,

A true meaning of the celestial elegance,

Provocative of love and almighty’s praise;

I’ve been courting your finesse,

Caressing gracious delicacy,

Embracing your kindness,

Tasting your sweetness,

Your odorous absence;

Deeply saturating me with,

Your enchanted romance;

Soothing remedy on my past roaming essence,

Enticing me always with your heavenly scents,

As if I remain in love-induced daydreams;

Your pearl like entity, a sheer innocence,

Reclining on her angelic oyster sets,

The molded poems

With its eternal verse,

Whispering a sonnet,

Sounding so amorous,

Consoling my harp corpus,

My sullen one and tuneless;

You breathing blossoms,

In my nostalgic spring, an exalted spirit,

Blowing into my anguished gloomy essence;

Your rolling teardrops, a revival ecstasy,

Showering on my fidgety drought body;

I will comfort you,

Always caress you,

As your twinkling motion,

Constantly I sense,

You, my little gold fish,

You know you’re the warmth,

In my shivering introversive guts;

Whit my all affection, I do embrace,

I keep you in my arms,

You little precious,

My heart, I do realize, it is so worthless,

Comparing to your Loving eminence,

Talk Show Classes FAQ

Talk Shows are indeed my favored events simply because of their dynamic nature coupled with educational disposition that traverse beyond the mere surface and attempt to not only lay all the acquired language skills in use, but also provoke critical thinking and cerebration amongst the participants.

      In this FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) you shall grasp the fundamentals of these seminars and familiarize yourself with the way I handle them.

Q) What is precisely meant by Talk Show?

A) Talk Show denotes discussion seminars that are devoted exclusively to bringing the hottest issues occurring around the world under group analysis. Self-improvement, Science, Economy, Politics, Philosophy, Psychology are among the main themes of the dialogs.

--------------------------------------------------
Q) What is the blueprint of Talk Show ?

A) Talk Show classes adopt the radio and TV talk show formula in which the host initially presents the audience with an introduction regarding the topic by a combination of description, evaluation and quotation. This phase is commonly known as brain-storming which prepares the attendants for forming ideas and opinions about the brought-upon subject.

      After this stage ,the host of the show involves participants through asking questions and demanding comments from each of them. In doing so, the participants may find themselves in a situation where it's hard to express one's opinion or make a mistake altogether. In the former case the host jumps in and gives an aid to the current speaker by providing hints, contributing new thoughts or ultimately changing the direction of the remark in order to facilitate the speaking process and alleviate the tension induced by the error; in the latter case the host merely intervenes when the fault is too significant to ignore and alters the shape of the dialogue.

     As the discussion proceeds, new comments and sentiments generate new discussions that not only assist the participants in digesting the matter but also promote critical thinking.

     In the mean time ,the host manages the flow of information and time dedicated to each person not to mention allowing for a competitive environment to encourage reaction from the audience. He also writes down the new ideas on the board for the members of the class who aspire to improve their understanding through note-taking.

     At the end, the host along with the audience reaches a conclusion for the theme and ceases the seminar by supplying the audience with food for thoughts concerning the issue.

--------------------------------------------------
Q) How long does each Talk Show last?

A) About 90 minutes.

--------------------------------------------------
Q) How many individuals do ordinarily participate in Talk Shows ?

A) The number of participants varies;nevertheless, generally the private Talk Show's consist of no less than 5 and no more than 14 attendants.
--------------------------------------------------
Q) How frequently are the Talk Shows available?

A) Once a week, Up to three times a week.

--------------------------------------------------

Q) How are the topics selected for each show?

A) Topics are all chosen in advance and well prior to the show in order for yielding the audience the prospect to search for the articles concerning the matter and amend their general knowledge about the proportional subject. The participants are required to visit this blog prior to each show and take part in an online poll to choose the subject for the next program. Learners can leave their comments in case of lack of interest and propose new topics.

--------------------------------------------------
Q)What is Talk Show News?

A)Conveying the latest news around the globe has become far more convenient these days thanks to the immense and round the clock broadcasting of the latest and greatest occurrences through cable TV, satellites and the internet; however, the significant magnitude of the news material coupled with the short time that regular individuals are willing to spare for viewing them has pushed the media to present the news as efficiently and briefly as possible.

      The aforementioned approach is realized through use of literary and journalistic words within a fast-paced frame of presentation. As a result, non-native speakers of English may encounter with difficulty trying to grasp and examine the news.

      Boasting the motto “News comprehension, analysis, and discussion”, as well as strikingly positive feedback from the participants, Talk Show News can prove to be among the best arenas to practice professional speaking along with understanding and critical thinking.

      As for the blueprint of the course, following a brief brain-storming, the news programs from various channels including, but not limited to CBS, NBC, CNN, BBC and so forth are depicted on a large screen for the attendants to witness. We tend to balance the news outlets by analyzing the coverage done by conservative media as well.  Upon reaching the conclusion of each section of the news, the video is paused, and the news as well as the accompanying new ideas are discussed. Finally the attendants are divided into separate teams for engaging in analytical pair-works in which the participants discourse the news with each other while under observation, yet not interference of the instructor.
--------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------
Q) What are the epilogue sections of this blog?
